CVE-2026-48710
Kludex Starlette
Summary
Kludex Starlette HTTP Request/Response Smuggling Vulnerability
Kludex Starlette contains a HTTP request/response smuggling vulnerability that could allow attackers to inject paths into the host part, prepending the actual path leading to issues such as authentication bypass when the authentication depends on the reconstructed URL’s path. This vulnerability could be chaned with CVE-2026-42271.

Exploit availability
Public exploit code lowers the bar for attackers, so prioritise patching and hunting. These repositories are unverified. Fake PoCs that contain malware are common, so never run them outside an isolated lab.

Where it shows in your logs
Server or web application · HTTP request smuggling medium confidence
What to look for
- Requests with both Content-Length and Transfer-Encoding headers, or malformed chunked encoding
- Responses or sessions crossing between users: one user's session suddenly used from another IP
- Requests to admin paths that the front-end proxy should have blocked
- The application's process (w3wp.exe, java, tomcat, node, php-fpm, httpd, python) starting shells or LOLBins (cmd, powershell, sh, bash, curl, wget, certutil)
- New script files in web roots (.jsp, .aspx, .php): a web shell
- Requests to unusual URLs on the application from internet IPs right before any of the above
- Outbound connections from the server to new external IPs
